Solve the problem in the simplest, cheapest and most sustainable way available.
When a platform already does the job, use the platform. Build from scratch only when nothing else genuinely solves it. That costs me work and it costs me revenue — and it is deliberate.
I have been writing software for thirty years, twenty of them professionally and almost entirely for American technology companies. I started out as a systems administrator. More about me.
Ongoing work: reserved capacity
For companies that already have systems running and ask for changes regularly.
Reserve a block of hours each month and spend it however you like: new features, fixes, integrations, improvements. The priorities are yours and they can change from month to month.
- No quote for every request — small things get done
- Priority in the queue — over ad-hoc work
- Predictable cost — the same figure every month, one that fits an annual budget
- Senior capacity without hiring — no recruitment, and none of the cost of a permanent headcount
Where it fits best
A marketing agency that needs a developer available on a permanent basis, a company whose internal system keeps up with the business, a product in production that keeps growing.
Artificial intelligence, applied
- Agents that answer — on WhatsApp, on your site or over email, grounded in your company’s information

If the task is rare, or a wrong answer is expensive, I will tell you it isn’t worth doing.
Consulting for development teams
For companies that already have engineers of their own.
In February 2026 an international technology consultancy brought me in to help them use artificial intelligence in their software development: assess the process they had, change how the teams worked, and stay with them while the habits settled. It went well enough that they asked me to join the company, which I did in June. Since then I have led that area from the inside, as Head of Agentic Engineering.
The programme is that: an assessment of the current process, adoption run against real work, and follow-up while the new way of working holds.

Website or system?
If it is content people read, it is a website. If people log in and the data changes as they use it, it is a system. The difference drives the timeline, the cost, and the conversation we have before there can be a price.
How I work
Projects start with a paid technical assessment: short, with its scope and duration agreed up front.
What the assessment delivers
A defined scope, an architecture, a phased plan and a fixed quote. You can take it to any supplier, even if you never work with me. Its cost is credited back if the project goes ahead.
Large projects run in phases: the first at a fixed price, each later one quoted at the end of the previous. Anything not written into the proposal is a change request, quoted separately.
After delivery
- Technical maintenance — updates, backups, monitoring, fixes
- Running agents and automations — tuning, new cases, usage costs, reporting
Hosting always stays in your name
The account is yours, on your payment method. I configure it, run it and maintain it. You own your infrastructure and can walk away whenever you want.
What I don’t do
- Graphic design and visual identity
- Ad campaigns and paid traffic
- Native mobile apps — I solve it with a web application where the need allows
- Storefronts built from scratch — I customise the existing ones
